A Puzzling Piece: Art
What a thrill to find this piece over the weekend.
This is a ceramic sculpture from Siegel Keith Artistry, out of Wichita, Kansas.
On June 4th and 5th, the 45th Capitol Hill People's Fair was at Civic Center Park in Downtown Denver. Loaded with vendors, giant turkey legs, and funnel cakes, this is the place to celebrate outdoors and enjoy amazing art, be it wearable or otherwise.
The interesting piece that I purchased was from an artist whose work can be found in high end hotels around the country, and when he saw my interest in his puzzle piece, he went on to show me larger pieces that he's customized for someones home that were torsos, completely created with the semblance of a crossword puzzle. One piece that I found particularly interesting was a male torso, made as a puzzle.. with the heart missing its piece, and a piece just outside of it that did not fit, and that was because the matching female torso had the proper piece to his heart, and vice versa. I was beyond sold at that point.. I mean, very clever!
After consulting with my husband, the puzzle piece was my final decision, and I have displayed it with a couple of interesting masks in our loft. I look forward to purchasing more Siegel Keith Artistry.. with the male and female torso at the forefront of my mind.
