While watching The View two weeks ago, they had a really good promotion going for Crock Pots on their View Your Deal website.. and I jumped all over it!
Hello! It's crock pot season, and I used the two that I previously had until they simply fizzled out. I've been without one for two years, so I'm very happy right now!
The un-boxing.. like Christmas for nerdy Martha Stewart types.
There were three color choices, and I loved this one.. reminds me of 1950's decor. My husband grimaced when I showed him the color I chose, but I'm in love.. makes me want to get a teal 'ice box' also. :)
This week has been rather busy, and I'm not sure I'll have time to get some recipes made up for the cooker this soon, so what did I do? I totally went on Pinterest and typed in Slow Cooker Recipes, and found two to get me started this week.
The crock pot promotion is now over, but check out the site for other wonderful deals.

Other than ordering an excessive amount of pumpkin spice lattes and obsessing over foliage, one of the wonderful things about fall is THE FASHION!
I went through a five year period where I didn't have the love affair with fashion and style that I'd had for the better part of my life. It wasn't for a bad reason though, I had to focus on self care in a different way, and focus on planting my feet firmly on the ground. As I started to grow and thrive in those areas that needed to be tended to, I started to realize just how far I'd stepped away from maintaining my own personal style, and felt sadness over the disconnect.
Those days are behind me now, and my own personal style is back and firmly intact. Its been nice to rebuild my collection, and continue to enjoy old favorites.
I'm totally obsessed. Pictured: Mens Rose Gold Watch- Forever 21, Ladies Rose Gold Watch- Macy's, Rose Gold Necklace- H&M, Rose Gold Earrings and Cuff- Dillard's. Chocolate Diamond and Rose Gold Bracel...
This Sunday felt more like mid August than mid October!
With temperatures topping off in the mid 80's, I made sure to get outside and savor every moment of it.
I spent the early afternoon up at the Botanic Gardens. The foliage is simply divine right now, and there are pumpkins in fitting (and peculiar) places as they prepare for an upcoming event, Glow at the Gardens.
I delighted in a peach danish amongst all of the beauty, and after I'd wowed and swooned over all that nature had to offer there, I made my way to the gift shop which always has lovely goods. This time around I found a bit of lovely that REALLY piqued my interest.
Holy beautiful butterflies!!
I stared at this lovely set of butterflies for about 8 to 10 minutes.. while admiring them, I overheard someone say that the piece was $1800.00.
I was temporarily thrown by the cost (lol!) yet continued to stare and fall in love. I moved to the left as I studied more of the art before me, and read about what had capt...
As much as I love an amazing dinner.. let's be honest, life gets busy, and sometimes, I just do not feel like making it!
However, on days that are a bit brisk, even if I've been super busy, I make time to prep and enjoy comfort food. This past Wednesday temps did not leave the forties, and into the kitchen I went.
When I have the time, I tend to use all fresh ingredients, otherwise I get the next best thing and make it work for myself.. Hah.
This weeks highlighted dish was Fried Apple Stuffed Pork Chops.
What you'll need:
One Cup Pear Juice Nectar
Honey ( You'll use this to drizzle over the top of the pork chops)
Two Cups Goat Cheese
Yes, I totally cheated here.. but they work. Fried Apples. Hah. Hah. HAH.
Two Pork Chops
Alaea Salt (two tsp) and Black Pepper (two tsp)
Preheat your oven to 375, and after cutting pork chops open (about 80%) sprinkle alaea salt and pepper over top, bottom, and inside chops. Next evenly distribute parsley (leave 10% of parsley off) and apples into...
I have a number of passions in life, and each one drives me in different ways. For 31 years, (seriously) I've had a camera nearby.. and with each passing year my love of photography has grown. At this point in life, the love is so much so that I can virtually be awakened out of a deep sleep by my desire to get outside and start capturing images.
This morning was one of those mornings.
Originally, my intentions were to share images of Fall that I'd taken in Nederland some years back, ultimately planing on working on the House of 303 beauty box today. Well no.. my heart and mind were in cahoots with one another and had other plans for me..
... and I'm not upset about it at all.
The coolest day of our Fall season here in Denver thus far, and I could hardly get out the door fast enough with the Canon in tow, as I stopped briefly to enjoy a cuppa, then on my way to a nearby neighborhood that I knew held some of life's most beautiful trinkets of fall in its leaves.
This past weekend, the mornings were brisk like fall, but the afternoons were summer light, and I wanted to delight in a beverage that captured both....
.... and of course, that's what I did!
Delish. Light. Easy. Refreshing. A perfect drink with a bit of a kick for the mild fall days.
What you'll need:
Fresh Mint Leaves (10)
Lychee Fruit (1 can)
Squirt Sodas (2)
Citrus Flavored Vodka ( 1/3 Cup)
Apple Pear (1)
You'll also need a blender and mason jars.
First, you'll chop up the apple pear, then add lychee fruit, citrus flavored vodka, and pears together in blender. Pour blend evenly into mason jars (depending on how many drinks you plan on serving, feel free to add to this recipe. This is for two beverages.) Add Squirt to the mix, garnish with fresh mint, and enjoy!
