As the lunch hour approaches for mostly all of us, take a moment to step outside, chilly, warm, or otherwise, and FEEL life around you. That is all. Pretty simple. Get caught up. If you're in the city, do a bit of people watching. If you're working from home, go take a moment to enjoy your yard, balcony. Perhaps a neighborhood walk.. just feel. It's like a quick, no fuss pick me up.

... and taking care of of our external body, our temple, is equally important.

Self care consists of a myriad of different things, and often times we find ourselves neglecting our temple. "Oh I've got to plan a spa weekend one of these days." Well putting that spa weekend off is not taking care of the current wear and tear that you're experiencing. Taking a spa moment for yourself is easier than you think, and you can experience that luxurious feeling at home.

Fridays find all of us wrapping up the work week, connecting with others, allowing ourselves to unravel a bit after a full week. 

At 303 Face | Body, we're starting #FeelingFriday, not only a feeling, but a movement. Feeling Friday is about wrapping up the week and peacefully settling into a weekend of zen. Technology has allowed us to never really leave work, not even on the weekends. We're ALWAYS connected, which is not a horrible thing, but remember balance, disconnecting for a bit, which means responsibly make time for you. 

 I love the picture of these rocks balancing. No matter how heavy the weight is on your shoulders to meet a deadline, organize an event, etc... balance your thoughts and feel your way through. I'll write that again, FEEL your way through. Don't stress, don't yell, don't rush. Who doesn't love a vacation? Of course we all do, but after an incident affects your chi and you find yourself off center, not all of us are able to shut life down at the drop of a hat and head to our ideal vacation spot. Being aware of what makes you smile or brings about a sense of calm is your mental escape, which allows you to be in a moment of stress.. however you can find the balance and the peace regardless.

A beautiful floral arrangement or smooth jazz gets me there right away. If I'm in an environment where I may be unable to have either around, I always carry soothing scented oils with me. There's never been a time when I wasn't able to decompress while doing this.

It's Friday night, and you've had a long day. Now its time to think of what to make for dinner. Not in the mood to order fast food but in search of a fast meal? 

I've just the thing.

Lemon Kissed Tuna Salad.

What you'll need:

Four 6.4 oz pouches of albacore white tuna

One lemon, cut in half (you should only need half of one)

Four green onions, chopped

One can sliced black olives

Two teaspoons celery salt

Two teaspoons black pepper

Four hard boiled eggs (chopped)

One cup mayo w/olive oil

Crackers ( No preference here, whatever type that you enjoy)

Combine chopped eggs, mayo, celery salt, pepper, olives, onions, and tuna in a large bowl, squeeze lemon half onto ingredients. Blend together, until mayo has completely covered the salad.

Grab your favorite crackers, a bit of sparkling apple cider, and enjoy! A light, yet deliciously filling dinner for a Friday evening when you're not interested in going the fast food route.

Each Wednesday, Marci Lundy, owner of 303 Face | Body  will discuss the importance of maintaining a lifestyle of mental and physical serenity .

Our mental well being can be maintained by the simple act of appreciating that which is around us. The natural art that we see each day which is free for all, the Earth. Skies, clouds, grass, sun, flowers, rock formations, birds.. really, the list is endless.

In this day and age where persons seem to gloat on how much sleep they did not receive, or how full their life is, or how much coffee it takes to function each day.. How about starting the day awakening naturally, because we went to bed early enough and got ENOUGH rest. What if there was no need to awaken to the rude buzz (beep, song, or otherwise) of an alarm because when you've received enough rest, you naturally awaken. Get to bed at a sensible time. I live for activated charcoal. Seriously. I use it everyday, more than once a day, and perhaps you should also.
